Artist statement

Over the years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to live outside my comfort zone by traveling to many places on all seven continents. the sights I have seen, the people I have met, and the immersion into these places that I experienced have all taught me many valuable lessons. While I understood that these experiences have been a tremendous privilege that, for a variety of reasons, not many can take on themselves, it was not until I discussed experiences in India with other Indians that I realized how extraordinary my travels have been. The recurring response from these conversations about their country is that I have seen more of India than they have. This resonated with me, which compelled me to begin capturing these special places and subjects so that I could share them with everyone and relive the moment for myself. My pursuit by photographing these subjects is that I afford others the opportunity to see the world from my perspective. Delivering on this is often challenging, but always rewarding.
